Leaving Animal Army + Bangkok pt.2

Published on 14 February 2025 at 10:11

Hellooo, I am back!! I've been having a great time but haven’t been keeping up with blog so going to do some updates now.

I left Animal Army on Sunday😢 I honestly can’t get over how quickly it went and it was sad saying bye to the other volunteers, the full-time staff and the dogs. I will definitely return in the future and maybe even come home with a dog that time🐶. I would highly recommend volunteering there if you are interested and you can apply through Workaway / Worldpackers. It says on their website that you have to pay but it doesn’t cost anything anymore. Also, please donate if you are able. They rely heavily on donations and I could really tell the difference that even a small amount made. I’ll leave a link to their website and facebook here -

After leaving Animal Army, I took a bus to Bangkok from Pattaya (that is one place I definitely won’t be rushing back to!). There was a girl on the bus from Lithuania who was wearing the exact same shoes and rucksack as me - we got chatting and then shared a taxi from the bus station to our hostels together😊

I spent one night in Bangkok and just chilled, did some planning, and sorted a couple more Workaways! The following day, I went to ‘The Artist House Bangkok’ and made a beaded bracelet while watching the fish and long boats drive past - very peaceful😌 Then ate the best noodle soup ever! It was the only thing on the menu so I knew it was going to be good, and only 60baht so even better😍

That evening, I caught the sleeper train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai - such a cool experience!! About an hour into the journey, they came and changed the seat into a bed and then I got comfy and slept like a baby💤 I watched the sunrise and then we arrived in Chiang Mai at about 7am - my brain couldn’t really comprehend that we had travelled cross country and I had slept the whole way haha

I will write another blog post about my experience in Chiang Mai so far! Absolutely loving it.

Please leave a comment if you’re reading this - I have no idea if people are seeing these or not, but am enjoying writing them either way☺️

Just read your blog! Sounds amazing, reminds me old days… also just read the same book, great characters.
Remember enjoy every day and stay away from the British guys, you may end up marrying and living in Deby! 😂😂

This all sounds a huge plus for the modern world and connectivity. Though still takes a daily burst of courage to dive into the next unknown, I'm very sure. You're doing the family proud.
